Wills
Many people put off the making of a Will perhaps because they find the prospect daunting and depressing.
Making a Will is one of the most important decisions you can make and in many cases is essential to ensure that your assets pass to those you wish. Make an appointment with us and we will discuss your requirements with you, offer suggestions and advice and convert your wishes into a readable, clear, legally binding Will.
Failure to make a Will means that you will die intestate and your assets will
pass to relatives in accordance with a fixed "intestacy table". This is a rigid formula which divides up an estate to different relatives depending on the family situation - in essence whether there are spouses, children and/or parents and in some cases dependant on the size of the estate. If there are children under the age of 18 a binding trust will result.
There is a serious risk that if you do not make a Will your estate will not pass in accordance with your wishes and might result in a distribution that would be very much not what you would have wanted and causing great difficulty for those you leave behind.
Making a Will avoids this risk and is a simple and pain free process. At Gilroy Steel, we are here to help.
We are also able to advise on trust and inheritance matters so as to ensure that your affairs are arranged as tax efficiently as possible to deliver maximum value to your beneficiaries.
